The Footprints of God

Sent by Ben:

Fractals are exceedingly profound. There's a lot more to them than anyone would dream of in their wildest imaginings.

For one thing, each one of them is genuinely infinite. And now we've discovered that the entire universe and everything in it is Fractal in nature!

Yet the most complex Fractal of all -- The Mandelbrot Set -- is generated with the simplest mathematics of all -- Z =><=Z squared + C

The infinite nature of the Mandelbrot is so awesome that it's been called "The Thumbprint of God."

Here is a fascinating, in-depth exploration of the nature of Fractals by Arthur Clarke called “Fractals - The Colors Of Infinity”
