BEYOND DISTRACTION

BEYOND DISTRACTION

J AN ISTARA Ackerman 10-07-2008

Today is a day of boisterous distractions

with a sleepy cat’s purring snore,

with noisy calls as birds gathering into flocks

for their annual autumn migration south, and

with the whirling motion of my washing machine

singing a grating tune in the laundry room.

All this is punctuated with the constant movement

of my daughter...over and over... from room to room...

footsteps thumping upstairs, downstairs, outside, inside.

As doors squeak, I try to rest within a peaceful meditation.

“Be still and know that I AM GOD;

quiet your mind and open to ‘the All of Life,’

for All is perfect just the way it is.

Embrace all dimensions and frequencies,

lovingly include all of the distractions.

Shine your inner Light outward on everything,

for my divine Light shines down constantly

on both the peaceful quiet and the alarming chaos.

It brightens the shadows and stirs

the heart open to the ONEness of it ALL.

There is no good or bad, right or wrong,

for the nurturing, warm brightness shines

its sunny rays down on EVERY SINGLE ONE.

Just be still and know that ALL is GOD/DESS.

All is a part of the holiness of Creation.

Place your focus on inner beauty and peace.

Be in your heart’s internal calm.

Be still... and as you allow... bless it.
